First time when I saw the pilot of 'Saraswatichandra', I was a bit jealous of Arvind Babbal, I was not sure if I could have done a better job.

TV changed in early 2000. The directors were made in to episode directors and they had no creative inputs. They were made to use cinematic treatment which can't be called cinematic from any aspect. In these times very few directors could remain directors with vision and creative powers. Arvind Babbal is one of those few in that club. He has remained a DIRECTOR in the worst possible phase for directors in TV and I think that in itself is a big achievement. It showed his character and his talent. He is today one of the most respected directors in TV because he didn't compromise on the art of direction. Congratulations to him for standing tall.
For me, it's been an extremely gratifying experience working with Arvind ji in my capacity as a channel head. A sensitive and insightful storyteller that he is. His understanding of varied nuances of human behaviour, good literature and a keen visual aesthetic sense, made it a pleasure for me (while at zee) to have him translate the vision that I had for various shows like Yahaan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli, Mera Naam Karegi Roshan, Shobha Somnath Ki and many others. His ability to translate human conflict of values and desires inspired us further to explore more elements in our stories.
Arvind Ji is such a fine director and such a wonderful person. It's my pleasure and honor that I could work with him on Yahan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli. Every frame Arvind Ji sets up is like a painting. His team members are also very dedicated and talented. The set was so disciplined when he would direct and also all the actors had complete clarity of his vision. Everyone respected Arvind Ji for his hard work and talent, given an opportunity I would love to work with Arvind Ji again.
